the world of computer games...

the world of computer games...is ...so. not. for. me. maybe daytona, time crisis (TWO), those kok games in the arcade...but not stuff like counter strike, DotA or whatever else...

tried my hands on an hour's worth of counter strike and DotA just now...the only thing i can say is "omgwtf..how do you play?!?!!" yes i know...i am w-o-l-s...those are how outdated...but watever.

to kill time b4 pinkpanther just now...i spent $2.50 on an hour's worth of gaming at cine with the nutsos...and i spent part of the time screaming, another part figuring out how to walk, another part figuring out how to change the blardee gun and reloading it...and most of the time dying. yes i know..i am a brilliant counter strike player..thank you.

then there was DotA..the 10 mins spent playing it was a total waste of time. first i stared at the screen and wondered to myself..what the hell is this game about??? then..the king of computers explained the whole aim of the game to me...to which i replied ..HUH?! ok never mind..the game started. i started clicking everywhere profusely, and before i know it...i am dead. hooray.

so you see...computer games are so not for me...ok maybe i will try counterstrike again...but no way am i playing DotA...

have you ever felt so empty, like as though something is missing in your life, and you turn to eating to "fill" up that emptiness?
have you ever felt so sick of everything, u feel like running to the toilet and sticking your finger down your throat to puke and make yourself better?
have you ever trusted someone so much, but yet find out that you have been lied to?
crying relieves one of the negative feelings, but have you ever cried till your tears run dry and you don't feel anything anymore?
have you ever tried talking to someone who hears but does not listen?
have you ever heard someone very close say to someone else who is not as close to him/her as compared to yourself "i will always be there for you if you need me", but yet doesn't even stick around when you need him/her?
have you ever given your all but received nothing in return?
psych has been a subject that i have been wanting to take since eternity, and this sem, i am taking it. and omg, what a bore it is. we have to take part in tons of research projects in order to gain RP credits, so that we don't have to write this other report. at the start of this week, i had ZERO RPs, but now i have more than enough to fill up all the credits that i need. ok..that is not the story of this entry...the story is this...

i have since taken two RPs, and this is kinda weird, but i enjoy taking part in them. i find them somehow interesting, and one way or another, i seem to be thinking about some stuff about myself, that i have never thought about before. these thoughts were evoked by the questions that were asked in the RPs...which were mostly about emotions, characters and cardiovascular responses.

i went for this very interesting RP today, which required me to relax in a room with the sound of birds chirping and water flowing for 10 mins, while my BP was constantly taken to see what is like when i am in the state of rest. after which, i was given 5 mins to write down a recent incident which angered me, and that was followed by another 5 mins of verbal interview where i had to repeat what i wrote down on the questionaire. and throughout all this while, my BP was taken.

well...i have been feeling really really really super duper down since monday, and i cannot explain why. maybe it is pms, but i doubt so, since i hardly experience that. but i guess it is this thing that's been nagging at me at the back of my mind...and i cannot say it out at all to anyone who ask me. but just now during the 30 min experiment, i poured out my troubles to a complete stranger. the experimenter was sitting in a seperate room, and i had my back towards him, and we communicated through the PA system. he asked me questions to prompt me to talk further, while my BP was taken to see what my heart's reaction was...and all through that time, instead of increasing...my BP remained the same (did i wreck his thesis?? haha)...i wonder is it because i am jaded or is it because i was just too tired. then he asked me what do i think is the solution for what i told him, and it just came out of my mouth, and now i think that is really the answer.and after the RP, for once i felt light-hearted in so many days...

so the story is...it's just weird how i cannot say out all that's bothering me to those who are close to me, yet i did it easily with a stranger, and removed the burden that's been in my heart.

WHY I LOVE HONG KONG...

i've noticed recently that most people who love bkk don't really like hk...and vice versa..and that is true in my case. and some ppl also don't understand why i love hk so much..so today i shall let you have a glimpse of why i love hk so much.....

as the advertisement always say....DISCOVER HONG KONG.....

i love hong kong for...

the food..the beef noodles, porridge, desserts, dim sum...and my new found love...

.....steamboat!nothing beats a good steamboat in winter...

yea..you may think "what's so great about steamboat? we have it in singapore too!"...but when you have these.......

kobe beef (at a relatively cheap price!)....

xiao long bao and char siew bao meant for steamboat...
steamboat is never the same...*droolz*
the cheap and pretty good transportation...
tram rides that cost 2hkd per ride...brings you to almost anywhere in the entire hong kong island...

star ferry...1.70hkd for the lower deck...brings you to the different islands..

people, bizarre fashion and hairstyles....

we concluded that the guy on the left probably stuck his finger in the electric socket before coming out of his house to achieve that effect.

billboards...

the night skyline.....

the branded goods.....

as chan will say..mother *beep* huge LV luggage in the middle of the airport!

catching tvb filming on the streets...

watched zhen qing before? this's tian fu's 2nd wife

the view from my hotel window...

the hong kong jockey club, horse race on saturday night and the highway

and the newly opened disneyland!...it was a leetle disappointing though...very nice..but very small..and very little rides...but anyway..here's how it looks!

you know all those pictures of the disneyland train that you got in your email many years back? they are for real... the trains really look like that!

the entrance to disneyland and the train station that greets you the moment you enter the theme park...

my favourite ride...buzz lightyear (ba-xi-guong) and the other mother *beep* huge etch-a-sketch pad...

the parade...i missed the fireworks display =(..because my mom wanted to go back to hong kong to shop -_-"

my future husbands...buzz lightyear..and indian chief (have i ever mentioned that one of my childhood ambitions was to be a red-indian? retarded..but true...heh)

my donkey of a sister...and travel companions who hijacked the disneyland bus...

madhatters (my mother was very excited when she saw these hats in the shop...and she made me take pics of her with them on!)....

....tea-party

ff and her favourite pooh character...

and this is me..hugging the planet of tomorrowland!! you see..most people will pose in a manner where it seems as though they are carrying the planet on their back...portraying how strong they are (also making the planet their burden)...but i...chose to embrace it and make it my love! hohoho...

ah...hard luck that i never take pics of the malls..the best shopping centre in hk is island beverly shopping centre..next to sogo...it's like far east plaza..except that the things in there are 1000 times cooler!

so anyway.....do you feel like visiting hong kong now??

a day spent in queensway shopping centre and ikea with cootie who bought tons of things...while i..didn't spend a single cent..except for my bowl of laksa and cup of longan honey with sea coconut (which did not contain a single bit of sea coconut @#%!#@!##@$)...heh! proud of myself!

then movie in the night with kunies and peach...and holland v with kunies...bah! to peach and ayy who pang seh-ed us!

casanova is freaking funny...to me ...but not to kunies..and i don't understand why no one laughed at the sexual puns while peach and i were laughing like mad..do we have a lousy sense of humour..or did no one get it? i hope its the latter...

anyway found this in my mailbox...some fotos of menus from china restaurant's tt my sis sent me...just look at how terrible the translation is...

and this...was a photo i took when i went to china three years ago...i thought to myself...wtf?! and then i couldn't stop laughing at it after that....absolute direct translation!

and we thought we were havoc...

when we t3 girls sit down together..we like to talk about all the crazy things our class used to do...soccer in class, jeff hanging his stinko pe shirt on the broom and hanging it out of the window (machiam hdb block), the guys playing soccer during lesson time and dumping their soccer boots in the class cupboard and stinking it up! zhao-ing sch, meems and kuns zhao-ing gp for the man-u vs. singapore match and then almost getting caught by serene koh...eating chicken wings in class, playing netball every break...playing pranks on each other..running away from brother paul, michael tan and jean yow, playing old maid and getting caught by gopal who confiscated our old maid cards (how ironic?!)...hil climbing the school gate..stuffing alvin saw's jacket into meem's bag...hiding alvin saw's shoes...hiding peach's bag in the fire hose..taking photos in the guys' toilet...table-tennis matches (jin jinling vs. char siew bao!)...and of course the water and broom fight during maths period in first 3 mths....just makes you miss all the fun times we had in cjc doesn't it??

and of course..our school has been known for it's slacker culture..where all we do is slack and play and not study...haha...well...viv just sent me this url with a video of the crazy things that the current cjc kids do...watch it...and you were realise how mild the insane things we used to do were...

check these out....i wonder how they managed to do it without getting caught!

  • remember the horrible time adrian ho made us climb that blardee wall in the obstacle course? how about climing---> this
  • you think playing soccer in class and dirtying the new walls is bad? look at what they do in class...
  • does this remind you of someone? heeehee
  • ok this stunt is the all time winner already!!

check out the sakae sushi videos too...sure brings back the times we used to spend hours in sakae!

A trip to ikea with hil and viv led to the purchase of this nice looking thing below...also known as a cookie jar. each time i walk through the food containers section i would gaze longingly at the whole shelf of cookie jars but yet refuse to dig that miserable $3.50 out of my wallet to buy one...simply because..i am not a cookie lover. but i couldn't resist it yesterday...and so i got one..and now it sits on my table half filled with cookies...and i'm pleased with my little purchase.ok..cheap thrill.
chip ahoy and chicken little assorted nuts cookies...
and then there is my all time favourite candy..jelly belly jelly beans - the original gourmet jelly bean. all from aussie land. hah..look at the neat container i got myself, so that i can carry some around with me in my bag...
fruit bowl flavoured jelly belly jelly beans!

peach, yj and i stayed back after school today and had sushi for dinner, whilst waiting for hil's cheerleading performance to start...the sushi was ok..and the cheerleading performance was awesome. KR's cheerleading team's brilliant..and TH's not too bad....i know i'm being biased..but what the heck...i am still saying it...you all could have done better if not for the swine. ha! not happy with what i said?too bad.

to hilly my rp...i just want to let you know that i'm really proud of your performance! although joining the cheerleading team just goes to prove how much of a bimbo you are (HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA)..i must really say that you did darn well just now..standing on top of all those people and falling back with ease..even though you fell once and blardee broke you head..i was i.m.p.r.e.s.s.e.d!

and hil, peach and i had a blardee good laugh at the swine. what happened what just absolutely loserish...yes i'm mean and u can say i am bitchy...i don't care.

oh yes...my ff of sister is a tutor now...i know everyone else teaches tuition...but i still want to say that i am very proud of her for taking up that challenge..because i for sure will never go anywhere near teaching!

you can love me for who i am...or just blardee don't talk to me.

GONG HEI FAT CHOI

hello...HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR to one and all...
this cny has been a pretty eventful one.. i was much more enthu than i thought i would be. becase i am so uninterested in this supposedly very fun festival, i did not expect that i would bother to tag along with my parents, but in the end i did.

so i sat there with all the aunties and grandaunties and uncles and granduncles and listened to their full of rubbish cantonese talks..smiled, acted sweet and pretended that i understood teochew..sank into the couch with my sisters and cousin.."plotted" against my grandaunt with my cuz...predicted my other grandaunt's new year talk before we stepped into the house ( and i was right once again..)..stared at the horrendous shows they show on ch8 during the 3 days of holidays...gobbled down tons of new year goodies...entertained the kids...had a steamboat mini-gathering with the girls..and most importantly filled my pockets with ang baos.

and that was how my cny went...how was yours?
