NDP 2006 : on a very bright and sunny, late saturday afternoon, two very patriotic singaporeans braved the red sea and the very hot sun, and took part in their first live NDP....and they are none other than.....peach and saltz. for the first time in their lives, they watched the NDP live (which will be held in the national stadium for the last time), were upclose with the fireworks, got their pictures taken for smile2006, got filmed on STi (what's this?) for some "dispose your rubbish properly" campaign, and got weird stares from ppl in katong when they went there for their dinner after the parade, because of the spastic tattoos they had on their faces.

outside the national stadium. we felt damn out of place because almost everybody wore red or white...or red AND white...but erm..i was in brown (??) and ok..at least peach wore white.

errr...we were damn suaku...we didn't know that the flag on the caps could light up...and we spent a good five mins shining light on it to figure out how come the caps of the rest of the ppl were glowing.... until...we found the bloody switch under the cap..hur hur

bumped into sy's sister at the start and end of the parade. was telling her that she shouldn't go to the mrt station, coz there're tons of ppl there and it's damn crowded..butshe went to tell her friend tt she can't go there to meet them coz i said it's super havoc there due to terrorists. -_-" anyway tt's us in meem's car on the way to my house for games night!

last day

blogging from the office right now. very fortunately... my comp id got deleted and they had to restore it. and because it was restored, i am now able to use the internet! woohoo! haha..they forgot to block the net...heh. anyway it's my last day working as a temp here today...other than tt pretty sad lunch time that day...it's been a great 10 days working here...and of course the money is good too (for a temp staff)! but hard luck, i will only get my cheque tmr. bah. if not for the not so high pay and not so spectacular job scope, i sure wouldn't mind working here as a perm!

moving on...i'm finally hired permanently! starting work on 1 aug...the pay is the absolute starting pay of a fresh grad..sadly. but that doesn't really bother me that much...because it's the company that i've had my eyes on for a long i guess i'm pretty lucky.

ok...other than these ...life's been pretty much boring, but pleasant and lovely enough =)

oh yes...russell peters is coming to sg! go buy your tix from sistic! and also...don't forget to catch nacho libre...farking funny! i laughed until i was practically howling! totally unglamorous...but jack black is just so freaking fat and funny!

temp-ing

at last...i am no longer a shi jie bai lei (erm...useless being of the society??). thanks to siying...i'm part timing at this local company that produced this ugly machine that makes any passerby puke when he/she witnesses a person mounting the product and start to use it..i know i shldn't have opened my mouth, but i cldn't help but feedback to my colleagues that the machine's utterly gross, and had to continue by asking who the hell and why the hell did that person even come up with such a product?! the reply i got from my very chatty colleague was...."THERE...HE IS THE ONE WHO DESIGNED THE PRODUCT THAT YOU SAID IS GROSS!" (while pointing in the direction of the designer right infront of me of course.) yay...he just had to get me killed. anyway...heng the guy didn't hear it!

so...yay! my bank acct is finally surfacing from it's previously infinite negative balance.

did i mention that i'm working in a dept that consists of men, men, men and even more men?! so for the next weeks i will be stuck with nothing but males. booohooo...thankfully...they are nice people. *phew* my very friendly colleague (also the one who almost got me killed) very kindly brought me on a tour ard the entire building today...and while in the main office..we bumped into one of the staff of the marketing dept....and this was the conversation tt followed...

C (my colleague): oh this is sh...she's taking over qh in my dept
girl: huh?! since when did qh leave??
C: last fri..u dunno meh??
girl: really?? how come?
C: oh her sch term started....
girl: oh ok....
me: hello *smiles*
girl: huuuuhhhh.... i will miss qh...i like her very much...u know why? because she is very small sized..and very good to bully...but this one...errr...
me: hurhur (KNNBCCB.....$#$TP!#!P$T!T$O)
C: why?! this one's very good to disturb too!
me: hurhur...(knn! knn! knn! you stupid woman! you die! die! no wonder you are short, and will remain short for the rest of your life!)

lesson to be learnt by that dwarf...never insult a person who is bigger sized that you!

Commencement 2006

yay! we have all finally graduated! three years of being buried under numerous readings, mugging for exams, getting results that follow the " law of diminishing marginal returns", writing essays and studying useless breadth modules came to a conclusion with a 30sec stage appearance dressed in the graduation gown and mortar board. oh yes...not forgetting having our names flashed across the huge screens and the after-ceremony-cam-whoring session. and with this...i leave you with pics from my "square hat" moment.

it sucks to spend money everyday when not a single cent is coming into your pocket. i need a job. why the hell is job hunting so difficult? ok...i admit that i haven't been exactly active in my job hunt quest, but from the number of resumes that i have sent out, and jobs that i have applied, i have not even gotten a single call back! what?! is my resume that unspectacular and unappealing that it is filtered as spam, and goes straight into the trash bin the moment it reaches the companies? damn it. the fact that i haven't gotten a single call since mindef, makes it even more demoralising and depressing, and hence i have no drive to search for a job at all. even the recruiment agencies don't want to call me! ok fine...i am queen of excuses for my laziness.

world cup is seriously detrimental to one's health and sleep. i can't wait for it to be over. then again i don't feel like watching anymore. first england got ousted, then BRAZIL (omg, devastated)...and now even germany is out! booooooo...now i'm not interested in watching anymore...france and italy...bah...france is so obviously going to win. then again...who knows...all the impossibles have occured in this world cup.

dinner with the band family plus mr. alvin seville arumugam. shockingly...he lost tons of weight..damn.. if he can do it...i am sure i can too! wj is back for good. all we have to do is wait for sulin to get back, and we'll be reunited...cept for kenny who disappeared to god knows where. then again..kenny who?

wah i am in a major bitchy and mean mood these days. i have no qualms about dishing out insults, and snide remarks straight in people's faces. soon i'll be on everybody's hate list. just look at the way i shot insults across the table at mr. a-s-a (btw...he's the conductor of cjc band) last night....who the hell invites someone whom he/she hasn't seen in ages, only to insult the person throughout dinner? yup...me. then again..i am not the president-from-hell- for nothing! hahah!

alright back to my stonning and...waiting for 10pm to come. ciao.

crap shit...i went to sleep at 12 plus last night..and was kinda proud of myself for going to bed at such an early hour. who's to know that i would wake up at 345am and not be able to go back to bed?! SIAN........what am i to do now?? :(
