things to remember PL primary by..

i found something to occupy myself with on this boring sunday..list all the things i remember about pl pri..hahaha..based on the years 1991-1996..

school rules

• hair must not touch the first collar
• fringe must not touch the eyebrows
• nails must be kept short at all times
• pinafore cannot be more than 5 cm above or below the knees
• belt cannot have more than one buckle
• school shoes have to be white and only laces are allowed!
• absolutely no hair accessories
• only black watches are allowed
• only plain studs allowed for earrings..and of course only one hole on each ear
• socks cannot be more than 4 fingers above the ankle!
• top button must be buttoned at all times

basket...machiam attending school in the girls' home

uniform

• THAT WHITE BELT!

canteen food

• 20 cents soya bean
• 50 cents syrup drink
• 50 cents ribena
• 20 cents orange flavoured ice lolly in that wrapper with the lion on top that's shared between 4 people! hahaha
• lucozade at 1 buck a bottle..man..if you buy a bottle of lucozade there goes ur allowance for tt day!
• 50 cents fishball noodle... and prawn noodles from the same stall that you can only get if you are lucky!
• pack of little cupcakes from the same noodle stall!
• dan pian fan...which everyone calls da bian fan!
• chee cheong fun from that auntie with the specs..and whom fainted one day causing a big hooohaaa in the canteen -_-"
• 10 cents rou yuan
• 20 cents money bag
• animal biscuit
• seaweed and peanut snack
• sugared peanuts

canteen food was the best! so cheap! ...and in those days..if you got 2 bucks for ur daily allowance..it was a big deal man!

bookstore

• red leaf pen and pen eraser..the day you get to buy these two items...it means that woahhh you are in primary 4..and you can bully the P2s..haha
• 20cents eraser with the flags of diff countries printed on it
• all those fanciful pencils
• pot of glue that we use for art..that sticks all over your hands
• scented glue that makes me dizzy!
• the short hair auntie who always scolds people!!!

places around the school

• that stupid area next to the canteen that we have to line up in before we get dismissed from recess to go back to class
• science, maths, english, chinese corner under the stairs that's filled with cobwebs..and then the science corner became the coolest place because science club decided to put cushions in there..
• pe room..like damn cool to be pe monitress because u get the important task of taking the basket/net whatever else balls and hula hoops and bean bag and other things...also the room to go to, to weigh urself..and if you are overweight u get sent to skipping aka t.a.f. club (which is actually fat spelt backwards!)
• prefectorial board...if your face is up there..woahh big deal!
• staff room..out of bounds to all students unless persmission has been given...guarded by prefects on wednesdays during staff meeting
• eco-garden..that one legged chicken that imitates everything the girls do..catching dragonflies and damselflies..tortoises..all that plant in the pond that we take and throw at each other ..hahhaha..the murky water that many girls have fallen into while trying to show off that they can cross the pond
• trees in the field..for providing shade..and for climbing and sitting in
• science room ...rumoured that all the stuffed animals come alive at night
• art room ...rumoured that the doll comes alive at night and walks around
• toilets..toilets on the P1 level.. fcuking dirty!
• classrooms..your tables and chairs get bigger/higher/better quality as you go up the levels
• fitness station..balancing beams were used for playing scissors-paper-stonen and monkey bars were only used when the girls wanted to sit on top of them or hang upside down from them..hahaha
• school bus stands that we have to line up at until everyone's there then we can move off to the sch bus!
• dental clinic...everyone breaks out in cold sweat when someone delivers a stack of dental cards to your class..coz if you get called down confirm kena scolded by clarinda's mom

students

• buddy system..p5 girls get to take care of p1 girls..and out of all the years..the only person whom i know who had 4 buddies to take care of was jane foo! hahaha..i had two..one was damn cute..the other..i think she either hates me or is freaking scared of me..i think it's the latter..coz she recently msged me on friendster..haha quite cute ah..
• after 6 years..everyone know each other's names!
• and if you go onto sec sch..chances of ever being in the same class as any person from your batch is about 50% high

classes

• a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h...then in 1992 became faith, gentleness,humility,joy,kindness, love, patience and sincerity..no prizes for guessing which is the best class
• each class had their own erm..style?you can tell what class a person's from just by looking at her..haha..not sure if this is true..but i identified people that way.
• p1,3,5 afternoon session and p2,4,6 morning session
• 6 kindness rawks la! hahaha

moments

• recess time and before school were spent sitting around the canteen playing 5 stones, skipping, hop-scotch, 21 points, catching, hide and seek and every other game you can think of
• in p1 everyone owned a toothbrush and mug with the courtesy lion printed on it..and once a week..we had to squat along the drains of the canteen to brush our teeth -_-"
• once in a while the teachers will check for cooties in the p1 heads..someone in my class had them and all the rest of us ran far from her..haha..so mean!
• rushing to change for pe class..and then when u reach downstairs your whole class' laughing at you..coz u either have your shorts backward front..or your shirt inside out..haha!
• erm...some ppl forget to wear bra to school! hahahahah!!! ok but i think tt happened in sec sch more than in pri sch
• going gaga over bsb and take that and all the famous boybands during p5 and 6
• writing letters to each other..when actually we just sit next to each other in class
• rocking our chairs and falling backwards...hahaha..rina's famous for this!!almost everyday in p4 it happend to her!
• passing food and msges under the table and getting caught
• cheating in ting xie!
• holding up the tb and sleeping or talking behind them
• copying homework
• going to the toilet to sleep
• mrs margaret soh and her son timothy...sinyee..remember all the times we disturbed him??especially at the science centre..what an idiotic kid..hahahaha

ok this one seriously got too many to mention...

teachers

• miss tay and miss goh..if you are from PL and you don't know them..go and freaking kick your own butt!
• mrs pulia..err i forgot how to spell
• miss wong and her red VW
• that chinese teacher with the mg rover sports car
• miss chiam and miss sim..damn fierce at times too
• miss melissa hiak or is it hyak (sounds familiar??) the ghost..only know how to drag us out of class to take pictures and listen to radio in class while she sleeps and we do our maths
• miss violet lim..but sadly she's passed away
• ding lao shi..handkerchief tucked into her bra
• mr ang..his supposedly famous choc cake that no one ever tasted and leaf bookmark!
• mrs i cannot remember what..the pastoral care teacher..everyone loves to go to her room
• and of course...mrs lim kim chee...man..she had the most colourful heels and she sure can shout!

prefect times

• we do the stupidest jobs
• the interview to be a prefect's quite scary
• the prefects' installation ceremony is a pain in the ass..you sit on stage and listen to the pastor go on and on and on..and all the time u have to turn ur head and look at him and he talks for so freaking long after that you end up with a neck-ache..then you have to stand up and say your prefect pledge..then you are officially a prefect!
• drag people out of class for assembly..if you get a p1 class..just go in and turn off the lights and out they come all ready in two straight lines in 5 mins...if you get a p5/6 class..freaking turn off the lights shout ur ass off..you only get ur class down when the bell rings!
• if you get to raise the flag..it's one of the coolest job other than being the head/vice head prefect..but if your flag falls you "die"
• if you get to raise the school flag..suay..if you raise faster than the national flag..n you're really suay on that day..you get scolded..
• on rainy days..we shelter students from the school bus to the canteen..because some joker uncles like to stop infront of the canteen instead of at the sheltered walkway area
• during assembly we stand behind the class and maintain order..and also to help people who faint during assembly...mrs lim gives bloody long morning speeches
• check the uniforms and all that usual stuff that prefects do
• chase people from the field to the hall on wednesdays during the afternoon session

different class positions

• monitress
• ava monitress
• duty monitress - watch people clean the class during recess..haha!
• various subj monitress
• milk maid - collect milk for the underweight everyweek..haha..i think after tt it became the job of the monitress

school bus

• the bus auntie with the long hair... who shouts into the intercom to tell the girls to sit down while driving..and everyone in the bus gets a shock!
• my bus uncle whom we nick named angel..because he was half botak..so his hair formed a halo on his head
• the bus uncle who left the radio on during assembly, and after the head prefect shouted 'school attention'...cha cham boh came on and the p5s couldn't stop laughing..and after that we had to stay back and kena scolded!

fcuk..i hate my p1 days in the bus..always kena bullied by the p5s and these two other people..no offence to anyone else..but she still dare to preach to me..knn..i had to pretend i loved them while growing up..but till today i still hate them!...know what they say about people who were bullied when they were young?..they grow up to be bullies! hahahaha..kiiiddiiingg

major events

• PL's 70th and 75th birthday
• if you were p1 in 1991...you most probably wore either the red, blue, green or purple little spaghetti strapped dress that makes you itch like hell..and sang somewhere over the rainbow on the stage...or you were the cow, horse, pig or something running around the stage..hahaha! i wore green!
• you'll most certainly know who eunice lam is..coz she was sort of the big star of that night who sang somewhere out there with..i forgot who's the other girl!
• agape land in 1996.."welcome to agape land..welcome to agape land' and 'popcorn and peanuts..popcorn and peanuts..come buy a pack of popcorn and peanuts today...!!'
• good morning singapore coming to school a million times..and each time they came we had to be on our best behaviour..and jean was the star of the news twice..hahaha

what else?? cannot remember already..ok i think this entry is long enough..i shall stop!
