the crazy hong kong people...

during this trip...i met kuku hong kongers...one was a very rude grandmother and another was a clown of a waiter...

my mom always told me that the hong kong people are very rude and fierce, and when they scold you..they would not hesistate to release a stream of vulgarities at you. but out of the numerous times that i've been there..i've never met such a hong konger before..hence my general impression of them was that they were friendly and nice. until this trip...i met a horridly rude grandmother. we were at the market..and my mom and aunties were standing along the narrow path choosing i cannot remember what..and along came this old lady who was walking real slowly with the aid of an umbrella.now..the old lady got really irritated that they were blocking her way..so she started tsk-ing at them and when they finally made way for her...she tsked her way through...and man! you won't believe this...when she walked to where i was at...she used her umbrella to hit my leg twice!! i stared at her in shock...and wondered to myself..WAT THE HELL WAS THAT ALL ABOUT?! especially since i definitely wasn't in her way! but well...i just let it pass...i guess there really are rude hong kongers around!

on our last day in hong kong..we went to our usual cha chan teng for breakfast, and the waiter who already found out that we were from singapore on the first day we were there...decided to provide us with some free entertainment..by speaking to us in his horrendous mandarin throughout the whole time we were there. he served us our food and shouted our orders across the whole place in mandarin...

first came the fish porridge with egg..YYYEEEEE ZHOOOOUUU..which my mom returned because the egg was missing..so he shouted...AHHH WAA JIU XI SHORR XI CHORR LAA..XI YEEE ZHOUU JAA DAAANNN(translation: ahh wo jiu shi shuo shi cuo la..shi yu zhou jia dan!)..then when the right order came..LLAAAA....YEEE ZHOOUU JAA DAN...DOI BU DOI???(translation:laa..yu zhou jia dan..dui bu dui??)

then came the beef porride...NGIAO YOK YEEE PENN ZHOOUUU...(translation:niu rou yu pian zhou!)..at this point..my sis was already laughing like a mad woman!

then my mom added a dumpling to our order..and in cantonese it's ham yok zhong..so he shouted across the place...XIIIEEENNNYYYOOOKKK ZHHHIIIOOONGGG ...which is really xian rou zhong in mandarin...omg..my sis burst out laughing so loudly people, turned and looked at her!

and then when we left the restaurant...he shouted...AHHH!! BYEE BYEEE...LA GE SENG JAA PORR DA!! (translation:ahh!bye bye..na ge xing jia puo de!)
omg..utter embarrassment...the whole cha chan teng knew where we were from man...-_-"
